About MUNify

Our Mission

MUNify is an open-source software suite designed to make organizing Model United Nations conferences easier and more accessible. By providing free, professional-grade tools, we enable organizers worldwide to focus on what matters most: creating transformative educational experiences.

Our software handles the technical aspects of conference management—from registration and delegation assignment to committee session management and voting—so organizers can concentrate on content and participant experience.

About DMUN e.V.

Deutsche Model United Nations e.V. (DMUN) is a German non-profit organization founded in 2003. Our mission is "Politisches Handeln durch politische Bildung" (Political action through civic education).

We organize two major Model UN conferences annually in Germany:

  • Model United Nations Schleswig-Holstein (MUN-SH) in Kiel
  • Model United Nations Baden-Württemberg (MUNBW) in Stuttgart

Each conference attracts approximately 400 participants aged 15-21, who engage in simulations of UN bodies while representing member states and NGOs.

We also provide unique learning opportunities through special simulations like the International Court of Justice, one of the few Moot Courts for high school students or exclusive crisis committees.

UN NGO Status

Since 2012, DMUN has held NGO status with special consultative status at the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). This recognition enables us to participate in UN-level advocacy for youth political engagement and civic education.

Open Source Commitment

MUNify is released under the AGPL-3.0 license, ensuring it remains free and open for the entire MUN community. We believe that:

  • Quality conference tools should be accessible to all organizers
  • Participants should not be charged extra for conference tooling
  • Open source enables collaboration and improvement
  • Transparency builds trust in the tools we use
  • Community contributions make software better for everyone
